Mercury's flagship Park Lane Breezeway from the sedan range. Finnish car, in the same family from new until late summer 2026. According to the "reliable" car wiki, only 3 examples of this model were imported to Finland in 1966.

YLE, at least, acquired a similar car for official use. Buying a car like this in the 1960s was not possible even for the upper middle class. These cars were enjoyed by executives of large companies and banks, as well as others who had become wealthy by questionable means. Now even workers can afford them. The problem is simply the tiny supply. There are not enough of these for everyone who wants one.

The model's special feature is the rear window tilted the "wrong" way. These have also been nicknamed Big Anglia, in reference to the English smaller sibling. In this model, the rear window opens electrically and is an effective way to ventilate the cabin.

The car has been lightly used for the last few decades. According to the previous owner's representative, inspections were carried out on time and the car was always maintained/repaired accordingly in the areas where its limited use required it. The engine runs beautifully and the gearbox shifts smoothly. The car drives straight and there are no unusual noises from the chassis. A pleasantly soft and quiet drive.

The interior is intact and stylish, including the headliner and dashboard. The small crack in the driver's door handle is practically the only blemish. Sound is provided by a period-correct Philips radio. The dashboard cover plate for the radio opening is included.

The exterior is another matter. According to the story, at some point the carport used for storage gave way, leaving an unfortunate dent on the right side at the rear of the roof near the C-pillar. At the same time, the right rear door handle was damaged. The car has several other smaller dents. The paintwork, especially at the rear, is in poor condition.

Unlike many American cars imported new to Finland in the 1960s, this car has not been subjected to the same modifications as many of its contemporaries.

So no rally steering wheel, Datsun engine, Hiace rear axle or other dubious modifications.

An exceptionally original example. Even the rare washer fluid reservoir and glass bottle for extra fluid in their own brackets can be found in the engine bay.
