Audi A8 4.2 V8 TDI quattro tiptronic Executive line, 2010, Lahti

Being auctioned is a really striking Audi A8 4.2 V8 with a mighty diesel engine. A true motorway missile with unbelievable equipment, and the Executive line tops off the appearance.

I drove the car for one evening, about 40 km, and here are my impressions from the car and test drive:

When I got into the car, I initially felt a bit like Jason Statham in the Transporter films. Performance and luxury in the same package.

With the press of a button the V8 engine starts humbly and runs beautifully. The centre display shows a fault message: ACC (adaptive cruise control) and Audi Braking Guard not available. According to the previous owner, the GPS roof antenna is dead, which is why ACC and Braking Guard are not working. Let’s not let that spoil the drive.

Shift into D and off we go. The gearbox changes gear very smoothly without any extra disturbances. When you get onto the motorway ramp and press the throttle more firmly, things start happening. The performance is stunning. It feels like the car pulls even harder the faster you go. Illegal speeds arrive too early. Wow. The car goes straight, the steering feels solid, and the air suspension provides a comfortable ride. The car is also very quiet on the move. As can be seen from the receipts and service book, the car has been well cared for.

After driving on the motorway for a longer time, the car shows the warning message Air Suspension Fault on the display. This was already known from the previous owner. A restart always helps, and the warning disappears. According to the previous owner, one of the air suspension level sensors is intermittent. The air suspension otherwise works well, and it does not sink overnight. The fault does occur from time to time and resets with a restart. The fault was not investigated further by K-Auto.

This A8 feels like a very tasty machine that creates a desire to own it. Get a few small faults fixed and this will be truly impressive transport for a long time.

BTW, the car cost €152,518.62 when new.

The car is sold with the tyres and wheels shown below. No second set of tyres.
