Well now, a rather ugly and sad Golf to repair or use for parts. It has served as a daily long-distance commuter, even though the body has seen better days. The mechanics seem to work somehow; the clutch bites quite low and the engine warning light came on when it was given a bit of throttle on the test drive. The driver’s door is held shut with a lashing strap, otherwise it won’t stay closed for the driver when taking a tight corner. The clutch pack rattles a bit when cold, but stops once it has warmed up.


It looks rather apathetic overall, but it MAY still get you home. It drove here over 250 km. One summer tyre blew out on arrival, but we’ll fit one of the “winter tyres” included in the car, so it can move on. All tyres are basically like anchors, so there is nothing to boast about there. And I’m not boasting about the car either =)

- it could be test driven, but then a tyre burst.
- It moves forwards and backwards. Driven long distances daily for commuting.
