This would be a Sorento for handy home mechanics or even a repair shop, representing the last strong vintage!

• The body has survived in very good condition considering its age and mileage, with hardly any rust visible on the outer panels. A thorough wash and polishing would make it really nice. The interior is in normal used-car condition, but with some cleaning it would come up well; there is slight wear on the driver’s seat edge, otherwise the interior is intact.

  
  

• Equipment includes, among other things: automatic air conditioning, cruise control, tow bar, 4x electric windows, remote locking, engine heater + interior socket, ABS, airbags, etc. Everything seems to work, and there is also a Webasto heater, but it may be an auxiliary/heater for driving use; we could not find the control device for it.

• It currently has fairly good Hankook Dynapro tyres with tread remaining on all of them +5 mm, and for winter there are Hankook studded tyres with +7.5 mm tread on all of them, with the studs also stored separately, likewise on aluminium rims.

• The car has an excellent service history: oil in the engine, gearbox and other drivetrain components has been changed regularly, the service book has been photographed, and there is also a big stack of service receipts. Inspected on 11/08/2026 without remarks.

• The gearbox and four-wheel drive work, there are no extra noises and the gears change smoothly. The four-wheel drive and drive mode selection work as they should.

• The car’s history has been known to us for a long time; the body or frame has not needed welding or any rust repairs, so it should still have a long life ahead in tough use!

• And then the reason this is being sold at auction: there is an extra noise coming from the engine. The matter was not investigated further when we took it in as a part exchange in this condition. After a little running and tapping around, the sound seems to come from the timing area. The engine runs on all cylinders and smoothly, but the noise is rather unpleasant. Fluids and oil are at the correct level and clean, warning lights are not on, and it can be test-run and driven onto a trailer, but we do not recommend driving it further to avoid additional damage. So it may be solved with a timing chain repair, or maybe not — be brave and find out?!?!
