• The 1958–1960 “Square Bird” Thunderbird marked a major change in the model’s history. The earlier two-seater roadster became a four-seater, and it became one of the first American “personal luxury car” class cars – more comfort, style and space, yet still with a powerful V8 and sporty character.

• The Hardtop Coupé was the best-selling Thunderbird model in 1959. It is recognised by its clear, wide and angular roofline without B-pillars, which created an elegant and open impression when the windows were down. Combined with the long bonnet and powerful fins, the Thunderbird HT was the most striking representative of late-1950s American car design.

• The 1959 model stands out with its details: larger chrome trim, refined front end and tail lights, and generous equipment.

• This example was imported from the United States to Finland in 2009, and remained with the same owner couple until 2018.

• The car was thoroughly restored; the project was completed in 2012 and the car was museum registered. During the restoration, among other things:

• New paintwork, the engine was completely disassembled and rebuilt – new pistons, bearings, etc. The interior was completely renewed while respecting the original style, etc.

• In the boot there is a bag with lots of literature, as well as a prize from the 2013 Hot Rod show.

• Technically and visually, the car has remained in excellent condition since the restoration, and has covered approximately 6,000 km.
