Buick Riviera, 1963, Hyvinkää

For sale is a splendid, well-kept and extremely reliable 1963 Riviera with genuine equipment and the largest engine available!

The car has also been driven long distances this summer without any issues (for example, a recent Hyvinkää–Loimaa–Hyvinkää trip), so this is a ready-to-drive hobby car straight away.

Mechanics and upgrades carried out:

• Engine & gearbox: Original 425 Wildcat (Nailhead V8) and Dynaflow automatic.

• Runs nicely, accelerates well and the gearbox shifts as it should.

• Spark plugs recently replaced.

• Cooling: Efficient new aluminium radiator (keeps temperatures under control in summer heat).

• Tyres & wheels: Stylish whitewall tyres fitted this spring with fine chrome wheels. All wheel bolts also replaced at the same time for peace of mind.

• Electrics: New high-quality yellow Optima battery, with a main power switch fitted on the negative side for added safety. Windshield wiper switch also renewed.

• Interior: Completely re-trimmed neatly and tastefully (not fully original pattern, but a very smart look); a few buttons were missing.

• Things to note (the honest little quirks of a hobby car):

• The paintwork at the rear is poor and will need attention at some point if you want it show-ready. The body has honest patina, but it works fine as it is.

• The lower edge of the rear window has old filler that has cracked (see picture). The metal underneath is completely solid and healthy, so no welding is needed! This has been taken into account in the price.

• Small window issues: The rear window on the driver’s side does not work, and the small vent window on the passenger side (crank-operated) is stuck, likely due to a stripped gear. All other windows work normally.

 Edelbrock carburettor 1405 7234

 MSD distributor

 MSD 8202 Blaster 2 ignition coil

 New, larger aluminium radiator (3-row)

 Gates 16 psi safety cap on the radiator

 Larger fan and custom aluminium fan shroud

 New water pump

 Gates 33036 thermostat 160F / 71 C

 Panhard rod welded

 U-joints replaced

 New front wheel bearings

 All bulbs checked / replaced

 New Forever Sharp steering wheel with removable rim.

 New horns

 Retro radio and new electric antenna, enclosed speakers in front
