Jaguar Sovereign, 1995, Ylitornio

Description and history

On offer now is a true gentleman's-class classic, Jaguar XJ6 4.0 Sovereign (X300) with timeless British racing green exterior and stylish beige leather interior. The car has been in my hobby use for the last 5 years and has also inspired my wider Jaguar collection. I originally intended to put this car into museum registration, but due to acquiring a newer XJ8, I am letting this go to the next enthusiast. The car has just been taken out of winter storage and is ready to drive. The car is located in Lapland, Ylitornio.

Mechanics and servicing:

The car is in good technical condition and seasonal servicing has been carried out regularly during my ownership.

The car passed inspection with clean papers on Wednesday 1 July 2026 without a single remark.

Engine: Reliable and torquey 4.0-litre inline six.

Latest servicing: Within the last 2 years, the battery, lambda sensor and rear sections of the exhaust system have been replaced. During my ownership, the automatic transmission and differential oils have also been changed, as well as new spark plugs (at 278,850 km)

Interior and equipment.

The interior is very tidy and in fine condition for its age.

• The classic walnut trim has remained beautiful.

• The light/beige Sovereign leather upholstery is intact and in good condition.

• Note: the headliner has, in the traditional way, begun to sag in places and is currently neatly secured with pins.

Body condition and cosmetic defects (see photos)

The car presents well overall, but there are a few small aesthetic jobs for an enthusiast in the bodywork and surfaces.

• There is lacquer damage on the left side of the bonnet and on the boot lid (the paint on the boot lid is poor).

• There is a rust spot of about 5 cm under the paint on the arch of the left rear wing - still easy to catch and repair.

• The original Jaguar alloy wheels have superficial oxidation.

A reliable, inspected and road-ready classic for driving, or with a little effort for museum registration!
