Jaguar Sovereign, 1995, Ylitornio

Description and history

Now up for auction a true gentleman-class classic, the Jaguar XJ6 4.0 Sovereign (X300) in timeless British racing green with a stylish beige leather interior. The car has been used as my hobby vehicle for the last 5 years and has inspired my wider Jaguar collection. I originally intended to put this car on the museum register, but after acquiring a newer XJ8 I am passing it on to the next enthusiast. The car has just been taken out of winter storage and is ready to drive. The vehicle is located in Lapland, Ylitornio.

Technical condition and servicing:

The car's technical condition is good and seasonal servicing has been carried out regularly during my ownership.

The car passed inspection with a clean report on Wednesday 1 July 2026.

Engine: Reliable and torquey 4.0-litre inline-six.

Recent maintenance: Within the last two years the battery, lambda sensor and the rear sections of the exhaust have been renewed. During my ownership the automatic transmission and differential oils were also changed and new spark plugs fitted (278,850 km).

Interior and equipment.

The interior is very tidy and in good condition for its age.

• The classic walnut wood trim has been well preserved.

• The light/beige Sovereign leather upholstery is intact and in good condition.

• Note: The headlining has, as is typical, started to sag in places and is currently neatly secured with buttons.

Body condition and cosmetic defects (See photos)

The car presents well overall, but the body and surfaces have small cosmetic issues for an enthusiast to address.

• There is clearcoat/paint damage on the left side of the bonnet and on the tailgate (tailgate paint in poor condition).

• On the arch of the left rear wing there is an approximately 5 cm area of initial rust under the paint – still easily caught and repairable.

• The original Jaguar aluminium wheels show superficial oxidation.

This is a reliable, inspected and immediately drivable classic — ready to drive or, with little effort, eligible for museum registration!
