Volvo S80, 2008, Tampere

All-wheel-drive S80 with a V8 engine for sale due to upgrading to a newer car. I have owned it for the last 6 years and used it as a daily driver for about 100,000 km. Clean inside and out, although the exterior shows normal wear and tear from age and use.

Very well equipped and all features work. The equipment list includes almost everything available for this model in 2008.

Key features include:

• Xenon headlights with cornering function

• Adaptive cruise control and collision warning

• Keyless entry

• Front and rear parking sensors

• BLIS (blind spot information system)

• Dynaudio — top audio package with AUX input

• Detachable towbar

Rear lights have been changed to facelift model LED units.

The car was imported to Finland from the United States with damage and repaired by a local Volvo workshop, after which it was registered in Finland in 2014. Replaced parts (bonnet, bumper and left front wing) are recorded on the registration document. The instrument cluster was converted to kilometres and the vehicle language set to Finnish. At the same time the Webasto clock was apparently programmed into the cluster, although there is no Webasto heater fitted. A Webasto can, however, be installed and the coding is already in place.

The vehicle passed inspection successfully in July 2026 and is functioning normally. In April 2026 the engine warning light came on and returned fault code "ECM-P002200 Intake camshaft position timing - over retarded (bank 2)". The fault was investigated during the summer and the camshaft solenoids were replaced with new aftermarket units. At the same time the timing cover and valve covers were resealed, which are common leak points on these engines. After the solenoid replacement a couple of other fault codes appeared (documented on the Ritariauto receipt), but these were cleared by adapting the solenoids and did not recur. The original fault code and engine warning light returned later; the wiring to the solenoids was then inspected and the signals from the position sensors were checked at idle in early July. Since then the car has been driven just under 1,000 km and the fault has not reappeared nor has the engine warning light come on, despite use on motorway and in town. The car drives and has driven normally the whole time, sounds normal and accelerates as briskly as ever.

Known faults are three:

• The driver's mirror arm is cracked (visible in the photos). It has been like this for my whole ownership and the crack does not affect mirror adjustment, heating or the blind spot warning.

• The driver’s seat occasionally clicks. I have not investigated the cause, but there is no obvious looseness or abnormal movement.

• The block heater element has burnt out. It is currently disconnected, so the interior heater can be used.

The car has been serviced by me and by professionals when needed. List of maintenance carried out:

• Left rear caliper & brake hose, slide pins for both rear sides replaced (256,000 km)

• Timing cover and valve cover seals and camshaft solenoids (254,000 km)

• Power steering pump (231,000 km)

• Accessory belt, rollers, tensioner and crankcase breather hose (230,000 km)

• Rear lateral arm bushings (223,000 km)

• Gearbox oil change (160,000 km & 223,000 km)

• Rear differential, transfer case and Haldex oil & Haldex filter (219,000 km)

• Fuel pressure sensor (198,000 km)

• Front wheel bearings (left 193,000 km & right 250,000 km)

• 4C dampers on all four corners (186,000 km)

• Brake discs and pads on all four corners (186,000 km)

• Alternator (169,000 km)

• Brake pedal position sensor (167,000 km)

Oil and filter have been changed approximately every 10,000 km during my ownership.

Sold on one set of Volvo Sleipner wheels shown in the pictures with summer tyres. The tyres are poor but legal.
