The barrel is made from polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and easy to use.

The complete delivery includes a durable snow‑load‑resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine‑aluminium stove, a drain tap and drain pipe. The barrel is insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill, so this tub will not frost out and disappoint bathers. The outer shell is domestic thermally treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every smallest part. We are very proud of our production line and this Classic Hot Tub model has been made for years using the same reliable method. The rim panels arrive at the factory as long material. They are cut to length and formed into an element into which the pre‑glued Jackon insulation base from Sastamala and the maintenance‑free PE plastic tub moulded by Pipelif e from Oulu are inserted. Our experienced tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, fit the stove openings on the side and install the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped on its side to fit the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight‑free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire‑making tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is set level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice you just attach the heater to the stove hose connections on a level surface with hose clamps, screw the stove drain valve closed and then it’s time for a soak.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded tub – also for taller bathers

The maintenance‑free rotationally moulded PE tub comes from almost next door, Pipelif e in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are placed in a mould which spins in an oven for an hour. After cooling the tub is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We have paid special attention to seating comfort in the tub design. The sides are not vertical, leaving a wedge‑shaped insulating air gap between the tub and the rim panel that better supports the bather’s back. Our tub rims are on average higher than other manufacturers’, so taller bathers’ shoulders are submerged below the steaming water surface and their necks stay warm. The seating comfort is top class and the legs are not cramped in this tub, as the bench is not too low despite the overall height.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves included in our tubs are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove handles sea water as well as fresh water. Carefully chosen material details make the stove a top‑quality product. Marine aluminium conducts heat excellently; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass hatch allows you to check the fire without opening the door. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine will start to oxidise the aluminium. We recommend changing water sufficiently often and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is also safer for children. Untreated water readily forms slimy deposits on the tub rim, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t suffer from frost even in freezing ground. The 45 cm Styrox base insulation prevents the cold reaching the tub floor and helps keep the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover which significantly reduces heat loss. A well‑heated tub can be reheated the next morning with just one firebox of wood.

There is also warmth in the Lunawood thermally treated pine panels that finish the tub’s appearance at the rim. You don’t need to treat the pine unless you want to; left alone it will weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic tub is maintenance‑free too: with no moulded seams dirt has nowhere special to gather. Still, remember to clean the tub surfaces when changing water — this is easy with normal detergents. Thorough users may occasionally disinfect their tub, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
