This Toyota Yaris is like a salute to the car world: when "good enough" is enough!

Now up for auction is a Toyota Yaris (friends just call it a Yari), which has seen more of Finland’s salted roads than it probably wanted.

Originally a 3‑door model, it’s now practically a 2‑door — the tailgate lock has decided to stay on permanent holiday. The driver’s door lock still works, but with the same attitude as a dealer approaching retirement. It works, but without enthusiasm. Let’s hope it doesn’t become a one‑door car.
The driver’s seat provides an authentic driving experience. Cushions have gone missing over the years and exposed metal keeps the driver from getting too comfortable. Whether this is a trick to make owners stop at every service station for a stretch, we can only speculate.

The bodywork could be described as well‑weathered. There’s enough rust to make a shipyard worker nod appreciatively.
If you’re after a museum‑quality classic, lycka till, but if "good (or almost good)" will do, this is a candidate.

The front light lenses are very cloudy, but as Maija Vilkkumaa sings,
"And mother’s eyes are already blurred

There is no service book. The service history is largely as mysterious as dark matter. Something has clearly been done, because the car still moves under its own power.
On the technical side the engine runs normally and the gears shift mostly well. First gear does give a small crunch when selected, but at least the car communicates.
