This is not new, not pretty, not tidy, nor particularly clean, but it’s OK to drive.


The body is approaching the end of its life, but technically surprisingly good.


The engine runs smoothly, no smoke, no major leaks; the gearbox, suspension and drivetrain also seem to be functioning.


The interior is not especially tidy, the boot only opens from inside with a cord, etc. It’s not a show piece — I do not recommend going to events in your best clothes.


Inspection is due in the autumn, so “easy stylish” driving is available for a while yet, and possibly for longer if you’re prepared to do some work.

The car comes with two sets of tyres on alloy wheels: the summer set is in mediocre condition and the winter tyres are very good — these alone are worth €400–600. The catalytic converter is in place and can fetch €100–300 when sold; the three-spoke sports steering wheel is a sought-after part; engine, gearbox, quattro system etc. — many valuable parts.

You can’t lose on this: with a little tinkering you can make €1,000 in a day, or even thousands by dismantling/selling parts, UNLESS you want to fix it to pass inspection for the coming winter.

- technically OK on a short drive and it was driven to us from 250 km away (so received as an exchange)
- many small issues: boot lock, loose door hinge, missing trim, body rust, etc., etc., etc..
