Stunning funkis-style flame/burl birch cabinet, 1930s–1940s MOH419, Helsinki

For sale: a striking and very well-shaped wooden cabinet, estimated to date from the functionalist (funkis) period of the 1930s or 1940s. The doors feature a very beautiful, lively flame or burl birch veneer arranged in a geometric grid with dark recessed or decorative borders. The cabinet stands on elegant tapered legs and the original key is intact in the door. This piece is a real eye-catcher and suits both modern and more traditional interiors, adding warmth and character.
