For sale: Chevrolet Captiva 7-seat LS 2.4 M/T FWD AC, 2006, odometer approx. 220,000 km. A roomy and tall everyday car for the next owner — no need to start telling the neighbours it’s too nice for the driveway. Overall it has seen life and the body has picked up some rust spots over the years (see photos), so it’s not a show car and you need not fear the first parking-ding. The engine starts well and runs smoothly, but it doesn’t feel to have full power — a bit sluggish at the moment. The clutch vibrates and the brakes also make themselves known; there is also some knocking noise while driving of unknown origin, so this is not a perfect specimen. Still a good project or cheap daily for someone handy who isn’t put off by a bit of work. Technically, in the right hands this can be made into a reliable car for a long time without needing to rob a bank. Interior is very spacious; the 7 seats add practicality and the driving position is pleasantly high — otherwise the car is surprisingly pleasant to drive. An honest Captiva for the next owner: not new, but not yet scrap. Bid to take it before the neighbour collects this “small project”.
