Volvo 740, 1990, Rovaniemi

The pictured Volvo 740 can be inspected; the MOT is valid until 25 June 2026. It can be driven either with the MOT or afterwards on transfer plates. The car has a lot of rust that needs welding (a few photos attached). When I bought the car it had Volvo 960 wings and lights fitted, which resulted in the windscreen being lowered and the top of the windscreen being filled, and the grille between the bonnet and windscreen is not properly fitted. I cannot guarantee the mileage, but I have not found evidence that it is incorrect. The ABS pump is faulty (a used replacement has been bought but not fitted, so its functionality is unknown). When starting, the engine may start, cut out and restart; after the initial start the revs are uneven for a short time, but this does not occur when driving and when the engine is warm. There is an oil leak (I haven't investigated the source). In the engine bay one air hose was broken and I repaired it with silicone. No information on timing belt replacement (not replaced during my ownership). Suspected leak in an unreplaced section of the exhaust system. The headlining has come loose from the adhesive (stapled). Frost has split the dashboard and the glovebox lid.

I bought the car in April 2023. Since then the following have been renewed: both front wheel hubs and brakes, both rear brakes and handbrake cables and bracket, the exhaust including centre and rear silencers.

The starter was replaced two weeks ago, spark plugs yesterday. Summer tyres are one week old (fitted at Vianor; wheel-nut re-tightening not done). Winter tyres are six months old. One set of keys, no service book, but the original owner’s manual. Right headlamp lens replaced in 2024. Radiator replaced in October 2025. Spoiler dampers installed in the rear boot in 2024. Oil-filler cap gasket replaced yesterday. I don't remember more — ask if anything else comes to mind.
