Volvo XC90, 2003, Kemi

Faulty-running Volvo XC90. After a short drive it started running poorly and doesn’t pull like it used to. It does move under its own power and will start. It has been checked enough to show a fault code for a misfire on cylinder 2. Other negatives include that the MOT is expired, slight wear on the driver's seat, the instrument cluster info display works intermittently, the thermostat should be replaced (a new one is included), the handle of the small lower tailgate is broken, the exhaust leaks, and there are certainly other small issues I haven’t recalled.

When it was still working, the engine ran nicely and smoothly, the gearbox shifts smoothly without jerking and provides comfortable rides even at higher speeds without extra noise or vibration. Two sets of tyres are included. The summer tyres are due for replacement, the winter tyres are almost new. Both are on Volvo wheels.

I owned the car until 8/2022 (approx. 35,000 km driven during my ownership). During my ownership it was serviced including:

- Timing/drivehead overhaul 9/22 as a precaution; there was no record of an earlier timing service. VVT sprockets were replaced at the same time when the workshop mechanic noticed they were worn out.

- Oil changes done annually, about every 8,000 km

- Gearbox oils changed

- Air filter and spark plugs replaced

- Cabin air filter

- ABS sensor and tone ring, front left

- Brake pads and other wear parts as needed

The car is by no means new or in top condition, and it has already been standing unused for several months as there hasn’t been time to investigate the fault. I believe it can still be made roadworthy once someone finds a solution for the ignition issue.
