For sale for repair — VAT-deductible Ford Ranger with a €15,000 reserve price to the highest bidder! Below are the car’s faults and repairs carried out so far:

KVT workshop in Hyvinkää: It appears the engine is broken. Likely water has entered the engine and crankshaft bearings are damaged. Injectors appear to be intact.

Transferred to TMA Autohuolto & Varaosat for inspection (by appointment; the car can be viewed during opening hours)

Diagnosis from there:

Mechanic’s report of damage: (BROKEN ENGINE IS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR)

• Engine: Removed and completely stripped down.

• Connecting rods and pistons: Connecting rods of cylinders 2 and 3 are bent, so the pistons sit below the block’s deck surface.

• Head gasket: Failed between cylinders 3 and 4 (combustion marks visible).

• Crankshaft: Main bearings are in poor condition; material has come off the bearings.

• Starter motor: The trigger wire mounting bolt part fractured off the starter because the connection was severely corroded and the wire did not disconnect normally.

• Cylinders: Cylinders are scratched. In the previous overhaul they appear to have been roughly honed only, so now they require boring.

• Valve train: Contact marks are visible on pistons and valves of cylinders 1 and 4. Cylinder head requires refurbishment. The camshaft module must also be replaced as it is uncertain whether cam lobes or cam gears are correctly aligned (or what caused the pistons and valves to collide).

• Fuel system: Some locks on the fuel pipe fittings are broken.

• Lubrication system: Oil pump and oil cooler must be replaced because bearing metal has been found in the oil.

Machining to be carried out:

• Polishing of crankshaft journals.

Body in good condition and interior fresh. Otherwise drove well.
