Completely knackered V50 — for repair or straight to a field car! Despite everything, it has been used daily and can be driven under its own power to a new home!


  • MOT valid for a little over a month

  • Good studded tyres

  • Summer tyres are rubbish

  • Engine warning light is on; previous owner says there has been a DPF problem for some time

  • Entire engine bay covered in soot; it has been smoking quite a lot — even the front edge of the bonnet is sooty

  • The engine is pushing oil out; the engine is oily all over

  • Left front corner was crashed and bodged back together

  • Hole in the left front bumper. Clearly melted — likely related to the strange events in the engine bay

  • The rear corner behind the driver makes a terrible knocking noise while driving; previous owner says the shock top mount is detached

  • Apparently tape repairs to the charge pipe or similar

  • Strong exhaust smell in the cabin

  • Surprisingly starts well, but the injectors splutter — of course!

  • As another surprise it boosts well (accompanied by a small whistle) despite the warning light and other faults. We drove about a 1 km loop and it did not go into limp mode during that time
