You'd think you couldn't improve on perfection. The VMK20 Bluetooth ANC headphones sold tens of thousands of pairs and received almost nothing but praise from both the media and customers, but development keeps moving and there's always something new to learn. Valco listened carefully to feedback on the VMK20 and built an 'big brother' for the popular model — the VMK25 noise-cancelling headphones.

First we once again refreshed the design with Finnish Ratamo Design. We aimed for a modern look while keeping the family resemblance, so you won't have reason to suspect the VMK25 is a postman's kid.

Because we don't think wireless headphones need to glow in the dark, both function LEDs are placed on the inside of the earcup. That way you can be sure you won't be noticed when crouching in the bushes while lying in wait.

A fun detail on the VMK25 is the handy magnetic colourful side covers that are easy to change (and wash) and customise yourself.

The VMK20 was already finely tuned, and mere adjustments wouldn't have made it better. That's why these have new composite drivers that allow for even better sound than before. The Bluetooth technology is Qualcomm quality here as well.

We also invested in ANC: these headphones have a completely new noise‑cancellation circuit supported by thick, sound‑damping memory‑foam cushions. ANC now also includes what we think is a silly but customer‑requested ambient/pass‑through feature.

Finnish design — Valco's designer Lauri Lumme has improved the model so the VMK25 picks up less wind and suits more types of exercise. We believe headphones shouldn't glow or flash, so we placed both function LEDs inside the earcup. That way you can trust you won't be noticed when sneaking around with the VMK25 on. We also made the side panels replaceable, so they're much easier to keep clean, customise and swap to match the latest social‑media trends. Ergonomics and build quality — The repositioned headband adjustment gives a wider range than before (helpful for very large or small heads). Overall a more solid, higher‑quality construction and a lovely soft‑touch finish. Fit is firmer, the surface materials feel a bit more premium, earcups are slightly roomier and the frame even more durable.

Even better sound quality — The VMK20 already earned a lot of praise among golden‑ear critics. The new (larger and improved) drivers enable top sound. Our sound guru Jasse “Jazmanaut” Kesti could hardly believe his ears when he tuned these. The sound profile is the familiar, studio‑neutral one that our sound chief Jasse “Jazmanaut” Kesti has refined. Music sounds the way it's painstakingly mixed and mastered in the studio. The “sound‑engineer” title is well deserved!

Excellent noise cancellation — A totally new ANC circuit reduces background noise even more effectively. ANC now also includes the ambient/pass‑through feature that customers asked for (even if we think it's a bit silly). Pressing the button uses the ANC microphones to let environmental sounds through. Is this anti‑ANC? It's a handy feature for hearing announcements or — if you fancy — secretly listening to your neighbours while they think someone next to them is blasting Sebuldura at full volume.
