BMW 318, 2002, Vantaa

My project enthusiasm and budget ran out, so maybe someone keener will buy it for the price of the parts.

A 320i 2.2-litre engine has been fitted; the engine has done 210,000 km and the body 302,000 km.

In addition, the car has at least the following new parts:

- Rear shock absorbers

- Rear springs

- Brake discs on all corners

- Brake calipers on all corners

- Brake pads on all corners

- New handbrake components (shoes, adjuster, etc.)

- New clutch slave cylinder

- New clutch release bearing and clutch pack checked

- New window regulator motors for the driver’s door and the right rear door

Items needing attention for inspection:

- The exhaust needs to be assembled/welded; a straight pipe exists but is currently in three pieces

- The brakes may need re-bleeding as the pedal feel is weak

- Handbrake adjustment

The engine has been well maintained and the oil and filter were just changed.

Brake fluid and a new air filter have also been fitted.

The interior has been changed to black; there are black leather seats, black headlining and an M-Sport steering wheel.

The engine warning light is on because the steering wheel was replaced at some point and the car does not recognise the steering angle sensor. The wheel will likely need to be removed to clear the light. The brake servo needs a little attention. The system works, but the pedal must be pressed fairly hard.

For someone competent, with a little work this will be a reliable BMW for road use, and if the paintwork is done it could be a hobby car.

There is rust on the corner of the bonnet and small spots on the lower edges of the front doors. The underside is solid.

New front shock absorbers and springs are included, as they were ordered in haste even though they were not needed.
