BMW with the N52 engine for someone skilled to repair. I've had the car for almost 4 years, but I'm no longer interested in getting it fixed.
At the moment the engine warning light is on and coolant has leaked out. See the “defects” section for more details.
I just want to get rid of the car as I already bought a replacement.
Many services and repairs have been carried out. I have receipts and notes for all of them. Most work was done at the same garage.
In the last two years the car has had, among other things, shock absorbers, spark plugs/ignition coils, water pump and thermostat, a wheel bearing and several control arms replaced.
It’s due an oil change.
The last oil change was just under a year ago, when the oil level sensor was also replaced.
Oil consumption is fairly high, but that’s a common fault on these cars.
Someone knowledgeable can sort it out.
An aftermarket screen has been fitted with Bluetooth, YouTube and other apps you can install.
There is a multifunction steering wheel, but the buttons have not worked since the screen was fitted — likely an installation issue.
The rear and side windows were tinted at a shop.
The car has been vinyl-wrapped by me — not perfect, but it looks good. The wrap has been on for about 2 years. An M-look front bumper was fitted when wrapping.
Black rear spoiler, mirror caps and kidney grilles.
Rear lamp housings replaced with darker ones.
Working sunroof.
Cup holders, one of which is a bit faulty.
Floor mats changed from rubber to carpet.
Studded winter tyres on wheels included. Tread still good.
An engine block heater was also fitted while the car was with me.

Defects and other observations
The engine warning light is on. Fault code P0012. Solenoids, filters and the check valve have been replaced but the fault code remains. I took a photo of the note showing the exact code. The fault is intermittent and occurs at cold start. If the code is cleared, the engine warning light comes on again during the cold start. For about a minute after a cold start the running is odd and the revs rise slightly a couple of times, but after that the car behaves normally.
Last week the coolant leaked out. It warned of low level and about 5 minutes after I got home the coolant had run out. Maybe a coolant hose split — I can’t say for sure as it hasn’t been inspected.
