Here’s a timeless auction classic: the BMW 520d F11 Touring, combining premium comfort with economical diesel power. This BMW 520d offers enjoyable miles and low fuel consumption.

History: This BMW was imported from Sweden and registered in Finland on 14 January 2014. It has had four previous private owners in Finland. The car was used by the most recent owner from 13 July 2018 until now. It arrived to us in part-exchange when the owner upgraded to a newer model. The previous owner is a long-time BMW enthusiast who knows these cars well.

Equipment: Fold-away towbar under the bumper, sport seats, leather seats, partly electrically adjustable front seats, front seat heaters, keyless start, automatic climate control, M-Sport multifunction steering wheel with gear selectors, trip computer, engine heater, 12V interior socket, interior heater, cruise control, parking sensors, xenon headlights, radio, Bluetooth audio, hi‑fi sound system. 2× tyres on alloy wheels, 2× remote keys, electronic service record. Not all equipment functions have been tested!

Servicing: The car has an electronic service record. The previous owner is experienced with cars, especially BMWs, and carried out his own servicing without always recording it, but services were done as required. At the most recent service the engine oil, all filters and the brake fluid were changed on 26 January 2026 at 345,000 km. The timing chain was replaced by the previous owner on 4 April 2025 at 318,000 km. This is documented with a photo in the pictures section. The pictures also show the electronic service record.

Test drive notes: I test-drove the car myself and the driving experience is excellent. The engine runs smoothly with no unusual noises, the gearbox shifts smoothly in normal use and the suspension is quiet. The seat can be adjusted to a very comfortable position, making driving pleasant. There is plenty of power for a larger car. The hi‑fi system gives good sound and bass. On start-up the car initially warns about the towbar. During the test drive the car also sometimes warned about the sensors. Otherwise there were no drivability issues.

Condition: The car passed inspection without remarks on 4 February 2026. The body has normal wear for its age — see my YouTube video where I go through the body, interior and tyres. The windscreen was recently replaced. Winter tyres are on BMW original alloy wheels, good condition friction tyres: Triangle Snowlink 245/45R18, manufactured week 19/2020, tread approximately 6 mm by finger measurement. Summer tyres are on non‑BMW alloy wheels but are very stylish 20" rims and suit the car well. Summer tyres in good condition: Triangle EffeX Sport 275/35R20, manufactured September 2024, tread approximately 5–6 mm by finger measurement.

Known faults/shortcomings: The towbar could not be deployed — there is a fault with the release. The car warns about the towbar on the instrument cluster and centre display. Parking sensors mostly work, but while driving I noticed the car sometimes warns that the sensors are not working.

NOTE: The engine and transmission have been remapped to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. The DPF has not been removed.
