Sturdily Finnish

The Black Edition tub carries a touch of heavy rock. Our Black Edition hot tubs are very Finnish – in fact entirely handcrafted in Finland. We are so proud of our Key Flag label that we give a 10-year warranty for the tub’s plastic parts.

Our factory is located in the heart of Finland, in Oulu. The masters on our assembly line add special charm to the Black Edition tubs. There is no black magic involved, and even superstitious bathers can safely use the black tubs. No spells are used in production; instead we use high-quality materials from which the "Black Edition" Classic Hot Tub is built.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded shell – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, shaped PE plastic shell comes almost from our neighbour, Oulu-based Pipelife. At their factory the rotational moulded shell is produced from plastic granules in a precise process. The granules are placed in a mould which is rotated in an oven for an hour. After cooling the shell is ready to be transferred to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the shell. The sides are not vertical; a wedge-shaped insulating air gap is left between the shell and the edge cladding which better supports the bather’s back. The rims of our shells are on average higher than those of other manufacturers, so even taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the steaming water surface and their necks stay warm. The seat comfort is top class and legs don’t get cramped in this tub, because despite the height the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine aluminium stove

The marine aluminium stoves included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with seawater, as it tolerates both fresh and brackish water. Carefully considered material details make the stove a top-quality hot product. Marine aluminium conducts heat very well, the stove’s front panel is stainless steel and the viewing window lets you check the fire without opening the door. The stove package includes two metres of flue pipe and a rain cap; if you want extra pipe, a flue guard or a spark arrestor, check the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, because chlorine starts to oxidise the marine aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about a day, after which the water can also be used for watering, as it does not contain additional chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily forms a slimy film around the pool edges, but active oxygen prevents this process.

An optional Harvia energy-efficient auxiliary heater is now available, ensuring easy and comfortable bathing! Now you can get the most out of your tub! You can safely go for long ski trips or autumn hikes without worrying about adding firewood, as the maintenance heater keeps the water at the desired temperature. Thanks to easy operation you don’t fiddle with a million buttons – just set the thermostat to the desired temperature and enjoy your activities. The tub stays warm even after the night, so you can jump into a hot bath early in the morning to relax. The auxiliary heater also keeps the stove warm to prevent freezing, and you won’t need to dip into tepid water to unblock penetrations before the next heat. The auxiliary heater thus brings the extra convenience you need for relaxing hot tub moments. The heater is almost guaranteed to work as it operates with free water circulation without a separate circulation pump, so you can be confident in winter frosts and circulation interruptions.

The Harvia auxiliary heater is a high-quality unit designed and made in Finland for outdoor tub water heating. The heater keeps the tub water temperature stable and speeds up heating. It can be used together with the tub stove to boost heating, or independently to maintain water temperature. The heater is a safe and ecological solution for heating a hot tub. It is easy to install next to the stove and connects to the mains with a plug. Just set the heater to your desired temperature. Carefully chosen materials and components ensure high quality and long service life. The heater body is entirely made of strong stainless steel and the elements are made of titanium. The auxiliary heater is easy to service and spare parts are available if needed. Temperature control via a thermostat. Adjustable water temperature approx. 10–40 °C

Your backside won’t freeze in winter

The Black Edition Classic Hot Tub’s bottom won’t freeze even when the ground is frozen. The 45 cm insulated styrox base prevents cold reaching the bottom of the tub and helps keep the water warmer (see cross-section image in the tub photos). The delivery includes a plastic cover which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated tub can be made warm again the next morning with a single load of firewood.

The tub’s wooden surface is domestic brushed coal-black spruce panels. The panel remains in good condition as it is, but if you want to treat the surface, apply wood oil annually. The plastic shell is maintenance-free, and since there are no cast seams in the plastic shell, dirt does not collect in specific spots. Remember to keep the shell clean when changing the water. This is easy with normal detergents. More meticulous users can occasionally sanitise the shell, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
