Mazda 626, 1989, Vantaa

For sale is this good Mazda 626 GD with a 2.0 12-valve carburettor engine and automatic transmission. The automatic changes smoothly for its age. The car has covered 168,000 km and is used daily.

The underside is rust-free. The car passed its inspection on 5 August 2026.

I have owned it for 2 years and have carried out the following maintenance:

A list of the major work:

Valve lifters replaced; the engine no longer rattles

Carburettor ultrasonically cleaned and seals replaced

Cooling system flushed

Rocker cover gasket replaced

Timing belt service completed last year

Oil and filter changed 7,000 km ago

Many other services carried out. A large bundle of receipts for all the work is included.

No oil leaks; fluids stay where they should.

Electric mirrors work.

Cruise control works.

Electric windows work.

The fan works and the car is pleasantly warm in winter as well as in summer.

Defects:

The carburettor needs adjustment. Especially when cold-starting, it needs several attempts before it stays running, but it always starts regardless of the weather. I suspect there may be an issue with the automatic choke?

There is a hole in the exhaust.

The rear arches will need attention at some point.

The paintwork has seen better days.

The car comes with three banana boxes of spare parts. An air-conditioning compressor is also included, but its operation is not guaranteed. I have managed without air conditioning.

The carburettor was assembled from two units—a mixture of manual and automatic versions—as I could not find a new or used replacement.

Two sets of wheels included: summer tyres on alloy wheels and winter tyres on steel wheels.

I bought the winter tyres last year. The summer tyres are from 2017.

The car is located in Vantaa.
