A perfect opportunity for a skilled enthusiast to enter the world of MPS Mazdas. Unfortunately, due to the demands of everyday life and logistical reasons, I do not have time to repair the fault in the Mazda.

The problem is as follows: the engine warning light comes on after approximately 75–150 km of driving, and the fault code displayed is P0012-FF, indicating a fault with the intake camshaft timing. The amusing thing is that, despite the fault, the car operates completely normally. It does not lose power, enter limp mode or otherwise misbehave in any way. The strong suspicion is that the root cause lies in the intake camshaft VVT timing adjuster/camshaft pulley, which is unable to build up the correct oil pressure for the VVT to operate as it should. A loose timing chain or a fault with the chain tensioner have already been ruled out: the chain is correctly tensioned (the valve cover was removed and checked), and there are no rattles or other noises when cold or warm.

The car is therefore sold fully operational and roadworthy, but for repair!

The engine was rebuilt extensively at considerable cost 10,000 km ago, including the timing chain kit, piston rings, main bearings, cylinder head and turbocharger. Naturally, all seals were also replaced, including the injector seat seals. Service receipts and documentation for the engine rebuild are available. According to the previous owner, the clutch assembly was also replaced during the same work, but no purchase receipt was found, so this is based solely on their statement. The clutch feels very good.

In May, the right front lower control arm was replaced for the inspection. Earlier this year, the engine oil and filter, gearbox oil, spark plugs, air filter and cabin air filter were replaced. The next inspection is due in 05/2027.

The starter motor was replaced in 10/2025, and the air-conditioning was serviced in autumn 2025. Printouts from the digital service history and other service receipts are available. The winter tyres are studless and in acceptable condition, and there are two keys.

A touchscreen Android head unit has been installed, with Bluetooth and live-data monitoring via the OBD socket, among other features. The radio is currently not working, possibly due to the aerial cable. The original head unit is included.

Removed from road use from 26.9.2026.
