A well-served E-Class looking for a new home. Just serviced, with the oil and filter changed, so it is ready to drive. MOT until winter.

Maintenance carried out during my ownership

• All brakes and pads in 2024

• Last year, new front shock absorbers and springs, anti-roll bar links, control arms, etc. were fitted for the MOT! Repaired at considerable expense...

• Rear ABS ring and sensor (left) replaced in summer

• Four-wheel alignment carried out in summer

• One diesel injector replaced a few weeks ago and the condition of the injectors checked (base washers replaced)

• Rust treated and removed, but the result is what it is, so it cannot exactly be called beautiful

Pros

• Webasto auxiliary heater for winter

• Front seat heaters

• Very good bodywork

• Good service history

Now the cons, so this does not become pure praise

• Plenty of age- and use-related wear all around; most of it can be seen in the pictures, which gives you some idea of what you are buying

• The paintwork is ugly but functional, so if you want it looking good, you will need to fix it yourself

• The headliner has also been painted black and is partly quite acceptable when viewed with your eyes closed in the dark, but it has held up well

• The leather seats have tears and the rear-seat pouch is hanging down

• The air conditioning works to its own schedule. I have not investigated the fault, but it always starts working after a while and then functions normally; still an annoying fault

• The buyer understands that this is not a new car, so anything may turn up, but I have listed all known faults in this advert.

• Sold only with the summer tyres shown below, which are poor, and ugly wheels, but they are still drivable

And now that you are wondering whether this car is for you, before you put on your buying trousers: it has served me very well and should now work properly, with so many new parts fitted. One of the biggest advantages is that it has a rust-free underside; at least I could not find any rust there myself. So, bodywork-wise, this particular example is a very solid car. And from a distance in the dark, it even looks quite good! The car is roadworthy at the time of sale, and I have listed all known faults in this advert. However, the buyer understands that something not known at the time of sale may always appear in a high-mileage car like this.

So there is now a big info dump about everything done to the car. There would be plenty more to say, but there is no point writing it all here—everyone knows that there are Mercedes cars like these everywhere, so it is certainly not a bad car! The car is located in Oulu. If you are still reading this long list, I can say that this is surely a good car at a sensible price, for a long time to come.
