Toyota Auris 1.6 Valvematic Linea Sol – a splash of red for everyday life

Here is a Toyota Auris that does not try to be a sports car, an SUV or a spacecraft. It is a Toyota. And that is quite a strong sales pitch in itself.

This is a 2010 Toyota Auris 1.6 Valvematic Linea Sol with 147,000 km on the clock. Under the bonnet is a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 132 hp, with power sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed MultiMode automatic transmission.

The colour is red. So you can find it in a car park without having to remember where you left it.

What does it come with?

• 1.6 Valvematic, 132 hp

• 6-speed automatic transmission / MultiMode

• Front-wheel drive

• Automatic climate control

• Heated seats

• Electric front and rear windows

• Remote central locking

• Electric mirrors

• Traction control and ABS

• Tyre pressure warning system

• Fog lights

• ISOFIX mounting points

• Radio/CD/MP3, 6 speakers

• USB and audio connection

• Audio controls on the steering wheel

• Leather steering wheel and gear knob

• Trip computer

• Two sets of wheels

A practical package

The five-door hatchback is well suited to everyday driving, shopping trips, commuting and that classic situation when someone says: “Could you pick something up while you’re out?”

The rear seats split 60:40 and fold down when needed, allowing the boot space to be adapted to the situation.

It can tow a braked trailer weighing 1,200 kg, so you can take along a little more than just a shopping bag.

Summary

If you are looking for an affordable, automatic Toyota with reasonable mileage, this could be a worthy option.

We are not promising the moon.

We are promising a Toyota Auris.

And in red.
