BMW 325i 1991 – restored and built with care, 183,000 km

For sale: a truly well-kept BMW 325i from 1991. Odometer reading only 183,000 km.

The car was originally imported from Germany in 2003. It was last inspected in 2005, after which it spent around 20 years in a heated garage, partly disassembled. About a year ago the car was restored to its former glory, and the project was completed in spring.

Since then, the car has been driven about 8,000 km without issues.

Technology

* 2.8-litre bottom end

* New piston rings

* New bearings

* New chains and other engine wear parts

* 2.8 exhaust manifolds

* 2.5 cylinder head and intake side

Chassis and drivetrain

* BC Racing suspension

* Almost all wear parts on the suspension renewed, except for the front lower control arms

* Reinforcements added to the rear axle mounting points on the body

* New wheels

* New Michelin tyres fitted

* Brakes renewed

* Fuel pump renewed

* Other wear parts also comprehensively renewed

A lot of work has been done on the car, and this is not just a superficial restoration. The mechanics have been thoroughly overhauled, and since completion the car has been in active use.

Faults / notes

I will also state the shortcomings honestly:

* The headliner is sagging. It was glued in winter, but the adhesive did not hold, so it needs to be redone.

* The clutch still needs a minor adjustment. It disengages about 97%, so with a gear engaged the car creeps forward slightly.

* The clips on one side moulding are broken. New mouldings and clips have already been ordered.

These do not currently prevent driving the car, but they are mentioned openly.

Odometer reading 183,000 km.

Completed in spring and since then driven about 8,000 km without issues.

A great and striking E36 with good mechanics for the next enthusiast. The car has been built and restored extensively, so this is not meant to be a “small jobs needed” example; the shortcomings are stated directly in the listing.
