Smart people buy Opel – fools buy BMW

Two men went car shopping.

The first bought a BMW. He wanted to show his neighbour that life was going well. The car had a flashy badge, hefty monthly payments and rear-wheel drive, which let him slide sideways in style through the nearest Prisma roundabout in winter. The BMW served as car, status symbol and extension of his ego all at once.

The second man bought an Opel.

He was not trying to prove anything to anyone. He wanted a car that starts in the morning, handles in all weather with four-wheel drive and gets you there comfortably. Leather seats, ventilated seats and an automatic gearbox made sure that a sensible choice did not mean giving up comfort.
