The price when new was €44,000, which bought you a base-model Accord and Civic. Adjusted to today's value, approx. €65,000.

Sold new by Lappeenrannan Auto-Sun, for private use in Joutseno.

Service book, manuals, original sales brochure, car dealer business cards etc. are kept as a nice bit of history.

The summer tyres (BF Goodrich) have approx. 4 mm tread.

The winter tyres are older Continental studded tyres, but they still have 7-9 mm tread.

The gearbox oil change capacity is 2.8 L, and the total oil capacity is approx. 8 L.

Honda does not recommend flushing the gearbox, so the oil was changed by draining through the plug three times in a row:

299,164 km, 302,584 km, 307,240 km.

This way the full oil volume was replaced. There are no problems with gearbox operation.

The timing chain and VTEC cam gears do not rattle when cold or hot.

I also took a few photos of the underside; it was well undersealed in its day, so rust will not be a problem. The side skirts were removed a couple of years ago, the accumulated sand was washed out, and the sills were cavity-protected at the same time. No sheet-metal work needed.

Points to note:

- The illumination of the screen on top of the dashboard sometimes goes out, and comes back when you lightly tap the right edge of the screen.

- The aftermarket parking sensor does not work. The fault has been investigated enough to find that the wiring loom has been disconnected and bundled inside the rear bumper. I have not tried whether it could be made to work by reconnecting it.

- The centre display sometimes starts slowly, but it always starts.

Honda's best engine, the K24A3, combined with the best trim level and automatic transmission. This has everything you need in a car.
