This is a piece of the era’s finest: an S600 Mercedes, of course the long-wheelbase version.

It stood unused with the previous owner for a few years and has now been refreshed for inspection.

Recently done:

- Oil + filter

- Spark plugs

- Ignition system parts, voltage converter and left coil pack (the old one was also intact and comes with the car)

- New brake lines at the rear and pads at the front

- Outer bushings on the rear control arm

It also comes with a decent amount of equipment, including:

Suction doors, adaptive cruise control, electric, heated and ventilated seats, keyless go (key card), Alpine head unit with sat nav and Android Auto/CarPlay.

Of course, it is not perfect: rust has started to eat into the lower edges of the doors and arches, and there are some other wear marks/paint defects too. It needs wheel alignment, the steering wheel is not quite straight, and from time to time it reports the rear right door as open even though it is closed. The protective boot on the front left ball joint has not yet been replaced, which was noted at inspection, and the left front strut would be good to replace at some point.

I have driven it just over 800 km now, and it really is a proper ride.
