Evella acoustic interior panels are a quick and easy way to create a modern, architectural look in a space. Suitable for a modern Scandinavian style, the panels create a seamless slat wall surface and significantly improve room acoustics.

The acoustic panel backing felt is made from 100% recycled polyester fibre, specially developed to reduce noise levels and eliminate echo in the space. The MDF slats attached on top of the backing felt are finished with genuine wood veneer, giving the panel a naturally beautiful finish. Installation can be done with the supplied screws or with separately purchased adhesive.

How it works
The acoustic slat panel dampens sound in two ways:

• The felt acts as a damping material that absorbs sound

• The slats and the gaps between them scatter sound by diffraction, i.e. distribute it in different directions

Although the slat panel does not dampen sound as effectively as a traditional acoustic board, it often creates a more balanced and natural acoustic environment, especially in living spaces. The difference can be noticed, for example, in clearer conversations or reduced echo from hard sounds such as impacts.

Natural sound environment
The panel's natural effect comes from part of the sound being reflected from the slats and scattered more softly. This shortens reverberation and makes the room less echoey, improving comfort in homes and workplaces. Especially with speech, the listener has less reverberant sound to process, which also helps hearing more clearly, for example for people with poor hearing.

Tip! You can easily test the echo in a room by clapping your hands once in different parts of the room. In a hard room, you can hear how long the reverberation remains ringing in the room.

Installation
The panels are easiest to screw directly onto battens. On concrete walls, horizontal battens are recommended. The supplied black plasterboard screws blend into the felt, and extra screws are easy to get from a hardware store.

If you want to extend the damping range slightly lower down the frequency range - for example for music listening - you can:

• Install the panel spaced away from the wall surface on battens, so the sound does not reflect back immediately after passing through the felt and instead reflects from several different interfaces

• Add mineral wool between the battens, which improves the damping. The wool or acoustic panel placed in between can even be used and worn-looking, as it will remain hidden

The panel can also be installed directly over the insulation in a partition wall without plasterboard, but in that case the effect is limited to the room's internal acoustics. The downside is that sound transfers more easily to the other room, and the panel does not act as an equally effective sound insulator as the missing plasterboard.

Practicality
Evella panels offer an easy way to finish large surfaces without demolition or levelling work. They are suitable for both walls and ceilings, and installation is quick.
