Turbo Ascona for sale. With this level of power, not for road use.

Used at NP Racing for dyno tuning on 11.8.26. 426 hp / 458 Nm, 1.3-1.4 bar

Inspected without remarks and next inspection due by 5.5.2028. The previous inspection had been 20 years earlier. All modifications made have been registered in a modification inspection. The car has a race-oriented feel.

Engine 2.4 CIH, completely rebuilt. The engine has forged pistons, PO-Metal connecting rods, the block has been line-bored, the deck surfaces machined flat, the oil pump has a diesel oil pump base plate, the crankshaft has been checked for straightness and balanced. Cometic head gasket, 12.9 head bolts, head porting and head tuning done by Kosunen. Intake manifold shortened from a 6-cylinder manifold. Injectors Bosch 1500 cc. Tatech engine management with wasted spark. Tubular exhaust manifold. Holset HX40 turbo. 60 mm KKD wastegate. 3.5" exhaust with one silencer. Intercooler 450 x 300 x 75. Volvo radiator with fan.

5-speed Sport Getrag gearbox with reverse shift pattern and detachable bellhousing. Clutch: Sachs pressure plate and 4-puck 228 mm sintered disc.

Rear axle Volvo 1030, fitted with a tightened Omega LSD. Driveshafts converted to 4x100. Adjustable four-links with uniball joints. Coilovers. Traction transfers very well to the road.

Brakes: front from an MV6 Omega and rear Volvo discs with VW callipers.

In the boot, a swirl tank with a Walbro 525 Hellcat pump inside.

Body:

All front ball joints and track rods are new.

New tyres fitted: front 195/50-16 and rear 215/45-16. Wheels: front 7.5x16" and rear 9x16".

Inside: sport seats and extra gauges for oil pressure, air-fuel ratio, boost pressure and GPS speed display.

Four-wheel alignment done.

Fibreglass boot lid.

Included is a 400-look fibreglass bonnet, which needs fibreglass, filler and paint.

The cold-start map still needs fine-tuning.

Headliner missing.

Trim/sound deadening missing around the rear seats.

The car has quite a race-oriented feel. From the rear axle, some droning comes into the body, as the link bars have uniball joints at both ends.

Total share of replaced parts 28.5% (rear seats 1%, engine 14%, front seats 1%, rear axle assembly 4%, front bumper 0.5%, gearbox and prop shaft 8%)
