Here is a spacious 2017 Renault Scenic for a DIY enthusiast or a workshop to restore. The car has 273,980 km on the clock, and it has a wide range of mechanical and electrical faults that must be addressed before normal road use. It can still be driven at the moment, however.

See the last photos for faults noted by the workshop that have not been repaired by us! Below is a list of them.

Faults include:

• The turbocharger is leaking oil, boost pressure is constantly at the lower limit, and the turbo needs replacing.

• When replacing the turbo, the boost pipes and intercooler need to be cleaned.

• There is fuel in the engine oil, the dipstick is over the upper limit and the oil smells of diesel; the fault most likely points to leaking fuel injectors, which need to be tested and any faulty ones replaced.

• Coolant is leaking from above the engine and gearbox, which requires the thermostat housing to be replaced.

• Exhaust fumes can be smelled inside the car and the "anti pollution" warning light is on in the instrument cluster.

• The automated clutch slips, behaves somewhat oddly and requires high revs to get the car moving.

• The battery has been tested as faulty and is flat, so the car needs a new battery.

• The reversing sensors are sounding constantly, as three sensors (left outer front, left outer rear and left outer right) have been found faulty and need replacing.

• The driver's door lock actuator is broken and the door does not always open with the remote key.

• The boot gas struts are weak.

There is some wear and tear on the body, but fortunately it does not affect driving.
