A slightly rarer Mazda3 on offer, GT trim, 2.0 L chain-driven engine. Roadworthy, but there is some doubt whether it will pass the next inspection on the first try.

Overall it looks neat, with the usual signs of use of course. The interior could be cleaner too; the biggest bits have just been vacuumed and wiped down. The engine bay is fairly dusty on top. The engine runs well and feels like the power is still there, and the small extra power from the RE85 conversion is noticeable compared with driving on 98/95 petrol.

It drives firmly, aside from a few knocks from the suspension, and the driving feel is pleasantly sporty.

Roof bars are also included, but not fitted (I will add a picture of the bars later).

Original Mazda fabric floor mats included.


The summer tyres are a couple of years old, the winter tyres still have plenty of tread and almost all studs are in place. Both are on original Mazda alloy wheels.


A nice and tidy everyday car for someone handy or for a Mazda enthusiast, with a bit of work.

Defects and other observations

Unfortunately this one has not escaped rust either; spots and patches can be seen from every angle, as well as on the underside and the frames. There is also a hole of some size in the right rear wheel arch. I have tried to photograph as many spots as possible.

Sometimes it takes a long time to start: the starter turns, but the engine does not try to fire. As if it were not getting fuel... although it could also be the battery.

After a slightly longer stop, for example the first drive of the day, when speed increases to 15–20 km/h, a knock can be heard from the front. Not investigated.

The rear bush on the right front control arm is weak.

The air conditioning leaks slightly from the compressor and possibly the condenser as well. It does blow at least somewhat cool.

The rear shock absorbers are worn out. No remark at the last inspection, difference 20%. The workshop did, however, mention their condition.

There is occasional creaking at the front, and the dog bone on the passenger side was at least stiff to move.

Of the electric windows and the door hold-open mechanisms, only the front passenger side works.

There is corrosion on the battery.

The spare tyre is punctured; I only noticed when taking photos that there is a drill screw in the boot floor. No idea when this happened.

The frame of the left front fog light is broken.

The windscreen is cracked along the bottom edge; this has not affected the inspection.

The headlights sometimes stay "on" when the car is switched off, whether in auto or off mode. Switching on and off once or twice "turns off" everything completely.

The engine undertray plastic is hanging loose.

The headlight units are quite dim.

After about a week standing still, a knocking sound started from the rear in time with wheel rotation.
