Has been off road for a couple of years. Lost interest in restoring it myself. The engine has carbon build-up and is blowing black smoke from the exhaust. It has been looked into, but the root cause is not known. Once that is found and fixed, it should still be possible to get it roadworthy. The car did pass inspection for me in the past when the engine had been cleaned of carbon deposits.


Faults:

- carbon build-up in the engine and seems to be running rich, black smoke comes out

- a bearing squeaks when the engine is cold

- reversing light has stopped working

- crack in the windscreen, has not prevented passing inspection. Crack in the right rear light.

- left mirror is a different shade

- studs are worn out

- coolant tank/pipe leaks slightly

- interior needs cleaning

- mapped, no warning light shown


Good points:

- very well rustproofed

- interior in good condition (just needs cleaning)

- runs well when there is no carbon build-up, power still there

- decent equipment level, all buttons intact and working

- summers are OK, driven about 1.5 summers with low mileage
