Peppy; rumour says official vehicles are more powerful — no papers for that, but it feels lively.

Soundproofed cargo area, as it was a prisoner transport vehicle. Very quiet compared with a normal panel van.

Sliding glass in the partition, also thick and insulated. Some of the glazing is double-glazed.

Timing belt done last autumn, about 100,000 km until the next change, receipt available.

Three tyre sets, plus two identical summer wheels included. Studded tyres were used last winter, and the summer tyres are also very good; the spare/other tyres are poorer.

Serviced once a year and repaired when necessary.

No structural welding.

Being sold because a 4x4 replaced it. It’s a good example even though it’s already run in — this engine is very durable.

FAULTS:

Driver’s mirror glass broken; a new one is included.

The central-locking fuse has been removed because the wiring in the driver’s door is broken.

The airbag light is on — the clock spring is broken. I replaced the part once but it lasted less than a year; I stripped one from a donor vehicle (marked with a red spot in the photos) but I removed it somewhere and can’t remember where I put it.

5th gear sometimes pops out if cruising lightly at 70 km/h, but when driven normally it does not (at least for me).

The auction winner has the option to purchase another VW T4 (photos marked with a red spot), long, passthrough; it also has air conditioning for €600 — you pay on site if you want that one too.
