Opel Insignia, 2015, Kuopio

Stylish and sporty Opel Insignia that needs a little work.

Drives well, inspected 12 March 2026.

Very comprehensive equipment, incl. adaptive cruise control, Webasto remote-controlled heater, rear-view camera, electrically adjustable sporty leather seats with memory and heated steering wheel.

Two sets of tyres on alloy wheels, summer tyres new, winter tyres 5–6 mm tread, a few studs missing.

Unfortunately the car has a fault preventing it from driving. Below is the workshop diagnosis:

Fault description: Will not start; the recovery vehicle provided auxiliary power. Electrical systems power up but the starter does not engage. Also reports errors from the blind-spot warning.

By testing at the starter it turned over when a new battery was briefly fitted in place, but it still won’t run.

Water has entered the interior. Most likely the body control module has been soaked, causing faults in other control units.

There was a lot of water above the fault-code connector in the storage flap.

The control unit was removed; corrosion from water was visible inside. It’s unclear whether this moisture is recent or old, but the symptoms have begun now in any case.

Because of the above the car will not start or respond to other commands, as the body control module is faulty.

The car is letting water in somewhere around a seal or similar, which has caused this fault.

According to the workshop the price for a new control module is about €1,000.
