Opel Ascona B 2.0S, 1978, Parkano

Now up for bidding is an interesting barn-find that needs little introduction among old‑school enthusiasts! This is a genuine legend, the well‑known Opel Ascona B, combining the three top status features of its time: a 2.0 engine, 2‑doors and rear‑wheel drive!

Additional information: The inspection sticker expired 20 years ago, so the car requires attention to the brakes, body and mechanicals and needs servicing. The car starts and can be driven onto a trailer. The water pump leaks heavily from the weep hole, so it must not be driven on the road. All gauges and lights work, but the heater fan needs adjustment. There is no battery and the battery tray is traditionally badly corroded. Door hinge pins need replacing (replaced with bolts for now) and the upper plastic cover of the steering column is missing (the lower piece is included). The lower edges of the doors will need renewing, but the boot lid and bonnet are unusually good. Underbody filler has been scraped away except under the boot floor. Not a bad project and the photos show the condition in more detail. Restoration was started some time ago but left unfinished. This has not been a passing‑around car; it has had only a few owners (3–4) in its history and was not used by young drivers. Tyres are old studded wheels in the style of the GSi Manta. The car is registered but declared off the road. True mileage is unknown.

The car is sold as a project to be repaired in all respects! It must be collected on a trailer or similar, cannot be driven away!
