Toyota Avensis saloon 1.8-litre Automatic (2000) – Cheap automatic Avensis project! Finnish car / Recently serviced & Almost full tank!

Here’s an inexpensive, iconic and reliable Toyota Avensis (2000) with an economical 1.8-litre engine, smart saloon body and an automatic gearbox that is now quite rare on the market!

This is a great project for a competent mechanic or enthusiast — with a little work and some parts you can get the car back to a good everyday condition for a long time.

The inspection sticker is valid until 30 November 2026.

Recent work and positives:

The car has recently had an unusually large amount of major and costly basic repairs, so the chassis is already in very good condition!

Recently serviced (6 July 2026 / 244,888 km): Scheduled service carried out (engine oil + filter changed), battery test performed and found to be good.

Major suspension work (25 February 2026 / 238,000 km): Rear axle shock absorbers replaced both sides, front and rear anti-roll bar dogbone links replaced both sides, new alternator belt fitted and front brake pads replaced (brake calipers cleaned and freed at the same time). This work cost over €900!

Body:

Reasonable condition for its age and mileage. There is some typical surface rust on the front wheel arches (see pictures) but nothing extraordinary. The engine runs smoothly and the air conditioning blows very cold.

Full tank: The fuel tank is currently completely full — at today’s fuel prices this is roughly a €100 bonus to the buyer!

Important / Known faults (The car is NOT roadworthy):

The car was inspected and diagnosed at Atoy Autohuolto on 6 July 2026. The car requires transportation by trailer or towing for collection due to the following faults (detailed reports in the pictures):

Gear selector cable: The cable has detached from the gearlever end due to wear and no longer stays attached without replacing the part. The gearbox itself operates, but the cable needs fixing.
