Legendary type-approved turbo E36 coupe — manual, based on the factory 328i.

This car has been built with high-quality parts and care over time. Selling to reduce the fleet.

Passed inspection in April 2026.

The car was built in winter/spring 2024 and type-approved for the turbo in early summer 2024. It has been driven two trouble-free summers on the road since. Driven approximately 7,000 km after the turbo build — the car has therefore been tested and found very reliable.

The ECU can be connected via Bluetooth to a phone or tablet and used as an extra gauge.

There is a USB cable in the glovebox for conveniently connecting a laptop to operate the Maxxecu (map tuning, etc.).

The suspension has had all rear bushes and shocks renewed, rear subframe reinforcement plates welded to the body, and all brake discs, pads, calipers, hoses and pipes replaced.

The engine was rebuilt with the intention of reliably handling at least 500–700 hp. I have mainly driven it at 1 bar boost. By changing the wastegate spring you can easily increase boost (springs included). The body has about 390,000 km; original odometer.

Engine:

• Engine management Maxxecu Race PNP wiring (one of the best options currently on the market)

• M50NV connecting rods

• Main bearings renewed

• Big-end bearings renewed

• New OEM block studs

• Athena fire-ring head gasket

• Timing assembly replaced completely

• Oil pump chain renewed

• Vanos serviced comprehensively (works excellently)

• Cylinder head skimmed and valve stem seals replaced; valves checked and the whole head cleaned

• All gaskets and oil seals renewed

Drivetrain:

• Light single‑mass flywheel

• 765 clutch setup

• Damped pressure plate (comfortable to use, not an on/off type)

• ZF S5D 320Z gearbox

• Chassis‑mounted shifter

• Braided steel clutch line

• FTE clutch slave cylinder

• TYP188 open differential (limited‑slip unit can be included)

• Turbo: Holset HX40 super (16" turbine housing)

• Wastegate: Turbosmart GenV ProGate 50

• 3" stainless steel exhaust with silencer (≈76 mm)

• Walbro 450 fuel pump in the tank

• 1100 cc injectors from Finjector

• 3" charge piping all the way (≈76 mm)

At the front there is a large intercooler and an electric fan with a temperature sensor. Intake air has remained cool and engine temps do not rise even in hot city traffic!

Battery and many other common wear items have been renewed recently.

Original service books and other small items are kept, and the car's tool kit is complete. The car has air conditioning, but some AC parts were removed for the turbo conversion — the system can be restored.

The interior is very tidy: door cards are firm, the headlining does not sag and plastics do not creak. The car has two keys. Electric windows, cruise control, heated seats, etc.

Wheels: Style 32, 8/9" (approx. 203/229 mm)

Includes all original standard parts removed from the car, so a museum/heritage inspection would be possible if desired later.
