Ideal for the next Passat owner!

Spacious and economical family car with a long MOT/inspection valid for the next owner. This is not a new car and there are things to do.

It has been in daily use with me and over the last 2 months roughly 100 km have been added each working day to the odometer.

Ive had it for about six months and before that it was with the previous owner for a long time.

Inspected in May 2026; the only note was headlamp alignment, so the MOT is valid for a long time.

Two sets of tyres are included, both are studless winter (friction) tyres. The ones currently fitted are usable at least for this summer but are not perfectly balanced so the car bounces at certain speeds. The other set on alloy wheels is in better condition for winter use.

Engine block heater with internal hose.

Cruise control works.

Air conditioning works and blows nicely cold even in warm weather.

There are cosmetic issues around the exterior. Biggest is the drivers door where a trim piece is missing, and on that door and the left front wing someone has applied rust-prevention tape or similar which is now peeling off — I havent bothered to remove it. Some rust here and there, typical for a Passat.

The driveshaft makes noise at higher speed when accelerating and when turning right.

The electric parking brake faults intermittently: sometimes I need to toggle the electrics on and off to release or engage it, and a warning light comes on when it misbehaves. Possibly a corroded wire. Sometimes it works normally for extended periods. Because of this I have avoided using the parking brake, but it hasnt caused problems.

There is no service book, but according to the previous owner the car has been serviced and repaired regularly. Under my ownership the oil and filters were changed 7,000 km ago and a major rear brake repair was carried out 2 months ago because they were in poor condition and the left side was dragging.
