Toyota Hilux Extra Cab 2.5 D-4D 120 4WD SR incl. VAT, 2007, Lappeenranta

Hello auction friends.

Once again luck was with me and I have an excellent vehicle for auction.

This is the legendary, often-called indestructible Toyota Hilux, first registered at the end of 2007. This example is a genuine Finnish car and not a runaround — the previous owner had it for about 13 years, so there have been only two owners in its history. This vehicle is also VAT-deductible.

The exterior is still in good condition; of course there are signs of use, but it is not rusty nor a written-off crash car. Small marks mainly add to its street-cred — these are not show pieces.

Well equipped, e.g. bull bar, extra lights, side steps and a fibreglass canopy — it already looks more like a proper rugged Hilux than a supermarket car-park SUV. A handsome machine overall.

The chassis is not eaten by rust and there are no oil leaks; the rear axle, transfer box and engine sump are dry.

The interior is intact — it arrived dirty but we washed the seats and trims so it's fine for anyone to sit in. Importantly there are no smells of smoke or animals, and it doesn't smell farmy. Note that all equipment works, including the air conditioning and the Webasto heater.

During the first owner's time it carried property maintenance equipment; remnants include a control panel on the dash and some hydraulic hoses. We cannot guarantee their functionality — they haven't been used by the previous owner — but if you plan to fit similar equipment some parts may already be in place.

Both wheels are on original steel rims; the summer tyres are almost new and the winter tyres still have tread and studs, so they will still do many kilometres comfortably.

The service book has been photographed and the service history is the kind you often see with people in the trade — not everything is written down. I interviewed the previous owner extensively and the impression was that it has been looked after. The timing belt, most importantly, was changed last year. For workshop owners these vehicles are important tools and are generally maintained.

I could easily sell this on a regular ad and it would likely go quickly, but we send vehicles like this to auction because of the mileage, even though I think half the mileage is still left. Someone should get a good working vehicle at a sensible price.
