The wooden archive shelves from the 1928 section of the National Archives on Snelmanninkatu have supported decades of Finnish knowledge, skill and stories!


The shelving unit consists of end panels approx. 2400 mm high, shelves 1140 mm long and corner brackets supporting the shelves.


The panels are approx. 250 mm wide and 25 mm thick glued boards, wood species pine. The panels have a brownish translucent finish.


The sale includes 4 end panels, 18 shelves and 30 corner brackets, with which it is possible to build one approx. 3.5 m wide, three-bay bookcase or reconfigure the parts to suit.


The parts are detached from each other.



Defects and other observations

The wooden panels show some dimensional variation, colour variation and age-related patina from use, and screw holes. However, wood is wood — the panels can be planed back to a lighter wood colour and refinished if desired. The panels may contain small panel nails.
