Vehicle arrived from a customer after use and the DPF warning light has not been able to be cleared. Extensive repairs have been carried out at two different workshops. The most recent workshop recommends cleaning or replacing the DPF.

Work carried out by workshops regarding this issue during the last year:

Basic service and MOT inspection (18/03/2025)

• Engine oil and filter change

• Brake fluid change

• Inspections and fault memory readout: The car was inspected for the MOT. Brakes were found to be functional and there were no play issues in the suspension. The only remark was a completely missing rear windscreen wiper.

Engine replacement

• Procurement and installation of a used replacement engine: A complete different engine has been fitted (receipts for the engine and for the labour have been supplied separately).

Emissions and engine management repairs

• Removal of emissions manipulations: The engine control unit (ECU) has been re‑coded back to factory settings and to the original software.

• DPF (diesel particulate filter) service: The filter has been removed, cleaned and reinstalled.

• EGR system repair: The EGR valve and the EGR valve wiring harness have been replaced.

• Boost pressure solenoid replaced
  
  

Latest workshop diagnosis:

- Glow plugs in cylinders 1, 2 and 3 are faulty, causing warning lights ---> Replace all 4 glow plugs at once and perform regeneration. (The car must be refuelled before repairs so regeneration can be carried out; at least 1/4 of the tank must be filled.)

We can top up the tank with diesel.

Attempted regeneration did not complete. --> It started returning a fault code for particulate filter overload; the DPF must be removed and used in a professional wash.

The car currently runs, but the DPF light and consequently the engine warning light come back on and the car feels slightly sluggish, accelerating more slowly.

The auction listing for the vehicle is based on the seller's observations; the car may have latent faults or defects that the seller did not notice when preparing the listing. The car can be test driven and inspected at our premises during opening hours.
