For sale: an i20 Hyundai for someone handy with a ratchet!

The engine warning light comes on intermittently. However the engine does not show symptoms (no ignition cuts, etc.). The workshop diagnosis is as follows:


''Fault diagnosis completed. The exhaust-side VVT sprocket (camshaft timing adjuster) is not functioning properly. This causes the engine warning light to come on under load.''

Therefore a complete timing chain overhaul including the VVT sprockets is recommended.


Otherwise the car runs well. Inspected on 20 April 2026 and serviced in January 2026. There are cosmetic blemishes visible in the pictures. The clutch bites quite low.
