The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and easy to use.

The full delivery includes a stylish, snow-load resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW maritime aluminium stove, a drain tap and drain pipe. The barrel is thermally insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill, so this tub will not frost and spoil the bather’s fun. The outer cladding is domestic heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every last particle. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same reliable method. The tub’s rim panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to length and formed into an element that houses the pre-glued insulation base made by Jackon from Sastamala and the maintenance-free PE plastic shell moulded by Pipelifе from Oulu. Our experienced tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, the stove holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tipped on its side for installation of the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire-lighting tools. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not settle unevenly. Assembly instructions are included, but in practice the owner only fastens the stove to the tub’s through-hose with hose clips on a level surface, screws the stove drain valve shut and off you go — time for a soak.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded shell — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, shaped PE plastic shell comes almost from next door, from Pipelifе in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are rotationally moulded into shape in a precise process. The granules are placed in a mould which rotates in an oven for an hour. After cooling the shell is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort in the shell design. The sides are not vertical so there is a wedge-shaped insulating air gap between the shell and the rim panels that gives better back support. Our tub rims are on average higher than other manufacturers’, so taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the steaming water line and necks stay warm. Seating comfort is top class and legs don’t cramp in this tub, because despite the height the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient maritime aluminium stove

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s maritime aluminium stoves are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove handles even seawater, as it works with both fresh and salty water. Carefully chosen material details make the stove a top product. Maritime aluminium conducts heat excellently, the front plate is stainless steel and the glass hatch lets you check the fire without opening the door. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with maritime aluminium as it begins to oxidise the alloy. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active-oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can also be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily forms slimy deposits on the tub rim, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t have a frozen base even in ground frost. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold reaching the tub bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic cover is included in the delivery which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be reheated the next morning with a single load of wood.

There is also warmth in the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels that finish the tub’s exterior. You don’t need to treat the pine if you don’t want to — it will weather to an attractive grey over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, oil the surface annually with wood oil. The plastic shell is maintenance-free, and because it has no moulded seams, dirt cannot gather in specific spots. Remember to keep the tub surfaces clean when changing water — easy with ordinary detergents. The most meticulous users can occasionally disinfect their tub, but remember to handle wastewater appropriately.
