Volvo XC90, 2003, Kemi

Faulty-running Volvo XC90. After a short drive it began running poorly and lacks some of its former pull. It does move under its own power and starts. It has been checked enough to show a fault code for a misfire on cylinder 2. Other negatives: inspection expired, slight wear on the driver’s seat, the instrument cluster info screen works intermittently, the thermostat should be replaced (a new one is included), the small lower tailgate handle is broken, the exhaust leaks, and likely other small issues not recalled now.

While it still ran, the engine performed smoothly and evenly, the gearbox shifts smoothly without jerking and gives comfortable rides even at higher speeds without extra noise or vibration. Two sets of tyres are included. The summer tyres are due for replacement, the winter tyres are almost new. Both are on Volvo original rims.

I owned the car until August 2022 (approx. 35,000 km driven during my ownership). During my ownership it was serviced, including:

-Timing head overhaul September 2022 as a precaution; no earlier timing head record found. VVT sprockets were replaced at the same time when the workshop mechanic noticed they were worn

-Oil changes done annually, roughly every 8,000 km

-Gearbox oils changed

-Air filter and spark plugs replaced

-Cabin air filter

-ABS sensor and tone ring, front left

-Brake pads and other wear items as needed

The car is by no means new or in top condition, and it has already been standing unused for several months because there has been no time to investigate the fault. I believe it can be made roadworthy again once someone finds a solution for the ignition fault.
