Defects and other observations

During a short test drive we observed the following:

  • - Vibrates at 40–60 km/h; engaging four-wheel drive helps a little.

    -> Front drive shafts need replacing. Driveshaft universal joints are rusty.

  • Steering somewhat stiff.

    -> Steering rack is sticking.

  • Clutch overhaul required.

    -> Clutch worn out.

  • Driver's door does not open with the remote.

    -> Door lock faulty.

  • Engine warning light on; according to the previous owner it is related to the catalytic converter even though it is functional, and the codes clear after a longer reset.

    -> Fault memory shows a code for reduced catalytic converter efficiency. Not active. Using higher-octane fuel may help. Possible catalytic converter replacement later.


The car has not undergone a technical condition inspection by us and the functionality of all equipment has not been tested. It may have hidden faults that we did not observe during the test drive.
