"You'd think perfection couldn't be improved. The VMK20 Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones sold tens of thousands of pairs and received almost-universal praise from media and customers alike, but development moves on and there's always more to learn. Valco listened closely to feedback on the VMK20 and built a 'big brother' for the popular model — the VMK25 headphones.

First off, we redesigned the look again with Finnish Ratamo Design. We aimed for a modern appearance while keeping the family look, so there's no reason to mistake VMK25 for some courier's kid.

Because wireless headphones don't need to glow or blink, both status LEDs are placed inside the ear cup. That way you can be sure you won't be noticed while crouching in the bushes wearing them.

A fun detail on the VMK25 is the cleverly magnet-attached quirky colour panels, easily swapped (and washable) so you can customise them.

The VMK20 was already finely tuned, and tweaks alone wouldn't have made it better. That's why these have new composite drivers, allowing even better sound. The Bluetooth tech is Qualcomm quality here as well.

We also invested in noise cancellation: these headphones have a brand-new ANC circuit supported by plush, sound-dampening memory-foam cushions. The ANC now also has what we consider a silly but customer-requested passthrough feature.

Finnish design - Valco's designer Lauri Lumme has improved the model so the VMK25 picks up less wind and suits more types of activity. We believe headphones don't need to glow or blink, so we placed both status LEDs inside the cups. You can rely on not being noticed while sneaking around with the VMK25 on. We also made the side panels replaceable, making them easier to keep clean, customise and change with current social media trends. Ergonomics and quality - The repositioned size adjustment allows a wider range than before (easier for very large- and small-headed people). Overall a sturdier and higher-quality build with a lovely soft-touch finish. Fit is firmer, surface materials more premium, ear cups slightly roomier and the frame even more durable.

Even better sound quality - The VMK20 already earned praise among audiophiles. The new (larger and improved) drivers enable top-tier sound. Our audio guru Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti could hardly believe his ears when tuning these. The sound profile is the familiar studio-neutral that our sound chief Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti has refined. Music sounds as it was carefully mixed and mastered in the studio. The title "sound rigger" is well deserved!

Excellent noise cancellation - A completely new ANC chipset reduces background noise even better. The ANC now includes a, in our view, silly but customer-requested passthrough function: pressing a button uses the ANC microphones to let ambient sounds through. Is it anti-ANC? It's a handy feature to hear announcements or, if you like, eavesdrop on seatmates who think you're playing Sebulduraa at full volume. Ha-ha!" -Valco
